ELI5: Liberal Party of Australia Policy for September 2013 election

  • No action on climate change.
  • Privatising as many government services as possible.
  • Removing measures designed to give us balanced media coverage, as well as breaking up the ABC and tendering out its processes and privatising SBS.
  • Cutting funding for as many government services as possible.
  • Removing regulation that gives us things like workers’ rights and parental leave payments.
  • No support for the arts.
  • No protection for local industries.
  • A preference for private education as opposed to the public system.
  • Increasing the influence of political donations by removing disclosure requirements, removing political blackout periods and removing public funding for political parties, exacerbated by an introduction of voluntary voting.
